Key CROMERR Compliant Categories


According to the current regulation for electronic reporting, there are a list of requirements that must be met before a system can begin collecting environmental data electronically; commonly referred to as CROMERR (CROss Media Electronic Reporting Rule).   • User Registration


    A key element of CROMERR is issuing or registering signing credentials in a way that assigns credentials to unique individuals that are protected from compromise. As part of the registration ceremony a determination of a registrant’s signing authority and the establishment of an electronic signature agreement are tied to the signing credentials offered during registration process.

  • Id Proofing


    In order to ensure credentials are assigned to a unique individuals, identities must be verified. For credential-based electronic signatures verification may be performed one of two ways: electronically verifying government id to minimum standards through an authorized identity provider service or by submitting a wet-ink signed, paper electronic signature agreement verified & maintained by disinterested party.

  • e-Signature


    Electronically signing records must meet minimum standards that verify and protect individuals’ signing credentials, provide evidence of intent to sign as well as maintain evidence that records remain unaltered for as long as they are retained.

  • Document Submission & Recordkeeping


    Systems must ensure electronic records are made available in human readable format before signing and securely delivering. Records must be retained for a minimum of 5 years offering signatories ways to repudiate records and flag accidental submissions. Systems must also have the ability to revalidate signatures with option to hold and retain for a longer period for enforcement purposes.
